Title: Detecting gravitational waves with resonant effects in bound astrophysical systems
Abstract: Gravitational waves carry energy that may be absorbed resonantly by bound systems. For this to happen, the period of the wave should be of the order of the time-scale of the bound system. The result of this absorption is the modification of the dynamical properties of the bound system. In the talk, I will describe what this means for the Moon-Earth, Satellite-Earth and pulsar binary systems, and show how the data tracking them can be used to detect gravitational waves in the micro Hertz to milli Hertz band. I will comment on the connection with the possibility to detect dark matter, and also, if time permits, on other possibilities for dynamics happening in the Solar System.
