Would you like to do a Master, Ph.D or postdoc in Nice, France?
If you are an independent student looking for a master, Ph.D. thesis, or postdoc position in the area of planetary geophysics, there are several opportuntities for you in Nice. Please feel free to contact me so that we can work out together what is the best option for you.
Master projects (M1, M2)
Master projects will usually be advertised on the MAUCA (Master in Astrophysics) and the SF2A (Société Française d'Astronomie et Astrophysique) web sites. In general, second year master students will be paid a small stipend for a 4 month project that will come either from the Laboratoire Lagrange or from my own grants. Please be aware that it is usually possible to modify the subject matter of any research project that I propose. If I did not post a master project on the official web sites, it is also possible to propose one at your request.
Thesis projects
Ph.D. thesis projects at the Laboratoire Lagrange are organized as part of the University of Nice-Sophia Antipolis doctoral school: Ecole Doctoral Sciences Fondamentales et Appliquées (364). Though I sometimes propose Ph.D. projects without a candidate in mind, I will often propose a suitable topic only after the candidate has contacted me and demonstrated an interest in my ongoing research program. After my approval, you will need to not only be accepted into the doctoral school, but also find a source of funding. A number of competitive doctoral contracts are awarded the University of Nice itself, but it is also possible to find external funding as well. The following are some links that will help you find a suitable funding source.

Postdoc positions
I am always looking for qualified post-docs, but I will only advertise for such positions when I have assured funding. For most cases, it will be up to the applicant (with my help) to apply directly to a suitable funding agency for a competitve position. Grants can be found from several sources, including CNES and the European commission. If you are interested in doing a post-doc, please contact me and we will work together to find the best available option. Please note that many of these positions have application deadlines in early spring, so it is best to start looking 1 year in advance.
