A separate test bench was developed and operated for a first demonstration of dark-hole creation with a single out-of-pupil deformable mirror with a continuous membrane. The test bench consists of a SuperLum laser diode source (680 nm), a binary pupil apodization mask, a Basler fast camera, and makes use of the ABCD method for the complex field measurement.
