The first OAP of the SPEED bench was delivered end of March 2016 and was characterized with a ZYGO. Surface quality is exquisite (few nm rms with a f-3 power law PSD) in step with the SPEED requirements. The manufacture of the first OAP opened the path toward the manufacturing of the complete set of SPEED OAPs by the OCA optical shop (David Vernet). The optical shop is a major OCA asset, an extraordinary means of optics production, a quality material infrastructure, and a unique know-how.
